The Celery Fields Regional Stormwater Facility is a 300-acre regional stormwater storage facility, and the largest single stormwater project in Sarasota County1. The project was undertaken by Sarasota County beginning in approximately 1993 in order to mitigate ongoing flooding in the Phillippi Creek floodplain?. The project was completed over a 6 year span of time at cost of more than $23.4 million dollars (not including the County park), and was dedicated on October 18, 1999.1
